Start securely — step-by-step
Keyword: Trezor Hardware Login® — Quick Start & Login Guide™ — follow this guide to complete setup, create a PIN, and perform your first secure login.
Unbox & inspect
When you first receive your Trezor device, verify tamper-evident seals and packaging. Only proceed if packaging is intact. An authentic Trezor has secure holographic seals and genuine device markings. If anything looks wrong, stop and contact official Trezor support.
Step 1 — Connect and open
- Plug your Trezor into a computer or mobile adapter using the official cable.
- Visit the official Trezor web app: use a trusted browser and confirm the URL in your address bar (no third-party sites).
- Choose new device to begin the guided setup flow.
Step 2 — Initialize & set a PIN
Set a strong device PIN using the on-device buttons. The PIN protects access to the device itself; it is not a recovery seed. Use a PIN you can remember but others can’t guess. The device will ask for the PIN on every connection.
Step 3 — Back up your recovery seed
Your recovery seed (usually 12 or 24 words) is the single most important backup. Write it down on the supplied recovery card or another secure, offline medium. Do not store the seed in digital form or take photos. Treat the seed as the ultimate key to your funds.
Step 4 — First login
To log in with Trezor Hardware Login® — Quick Start & Login Guide™ principles: connect device, enter PIN on-device, confirm the login on the device screen, and approve the action from the web app. The device will verify addresses and signatures on-screen so you can confirm authenticity.
Security checklist
- Always confirm transaction details on the Trezor screen before approving.
- Keep firmware updated from official Trezor sources only.
- Never reveal your recovery seed or enter it into a computer or phone.
